Sometimes it's easier to listen than to read. Our Text to Speech tool uses the Web Speech API built into your browser to read any text aloud. No downloads, no server processing. Everything happens locally on your machine and works offline after the page loads.

Type or paste any text into the box and click Speak. The tool reads your text using the default voice on your system. You can change the voice from the dropdown menu. Chrome and Edge users get the widest selection of voices, including regional accents and languages. The available voices depend on your operating system, so try different browsers if you need a specific voice.

The speed slider lets you slow down the reading for hard-to-pronounce words or speed it up for quick proofreading. Set it between 0.25x and 3x speed. The pitch slider changes how high or low the voice sounds, which can make the voice sound more natural or match a specific tone you prefer.

Use the Pause and Resume buttons to stop and continue reading mid-sentence. Stop ends the reading completely. This is useful for long articles where you want to take breaks. The current status shows what the tool is doing at all times.
